Due Dates: Students have one week after the last lecture (four weeks in all) to complete and turn in all assignments. Late assignments are unacceptable. Unless you have a family emergency or an excused absence, you will loose one letter grade each day your assignment is turned in late.

A+ 100% to 98% C < 78% to 72% C+ <80% to 78%
A < 98% to 92% C- < 72% to 70%
A- < 92% to 90% D+ < 70% to 68%
B+ < 90% to 88% D < 68% to 62%
B < 88% to 82% D- < 62% to 60%
B- < 82% to 80% F < 60% to 0%
Plagiarism & Cheating Policy: Plagiarism consists of
(1) use of another’s ideas without giving credit;
(2) quoting material from published or unpublished works, whether purchased or copied, or oral presentations without giving proper citation;
(3) paraphrasing published or unpublished material, written or oral, without proper citation;
(4) copying another student’s paper with or without that student’s permission. Material, whether published or unpublished, purchased or copied from another writer must be identified by use of quotation marks or block quotation and documentation with specific citation of the source. Paraphrased material must likewise be attributed to the original author.
Cheating is engaging in dishonest behavior such as:
(1) allowing another student to copy one’s paper;
(2) using unauthorized notes or material when taking an examination;
(3) copying answers to examination questions;
(4) engaging in securing unauthorized copies of examination questions (including aiding another person in doing so);
(5) calling out answers to an exam.
Students copying and submitting another person’s class work and/or homework as their own, or submitting assignments as having originated from themselves but has been performed by another person, are guilty of plagiarism—which is cheating. Any student found guilty of plagiarism or cheating as described above, or anything similar, will face, at minimum:
(1) faculty discipline on the first offense along with a filed “Plagiarism/Cheating Report”;
(2) Academic Affairs discipline for subsequent offenses. For the second offense, student will receive an “F” for the course. For the third offense, students will be dismissed from the institution.
Note that egregious first offenses may be dealt with more harshly than merely failing the assignment or exam.
Mission trips and ministry activities will not be counted as excused absences and should not be scheduled to interfere with class attendance. Exceptions include ministry responsibilities involving unavoidable circumstances such as officiating at funerals.
Students wishing to enroll in OSM should complete the Enrollment Application and return it, along with the $25 application fee, to the Main Office prior to registering for courses.
