Our History
The Oxford School of Ministry (OSM) originates from two esteemed Bible institutions. The first, Oasis School of Theology (OST) in Oxford, Mississippi, was established around 2003. OST was accredited by the International Association of Bible Colleges and Seminaries (IABCS) to confer both undergraduate and graduate degrees. The aim of OST was to deliver Spirit-empowered theological education to those called to Christian service in the Mid-South Region. Under the guidance of its founder and chancellor, the late Dr. David A. Reeves, OST trained over three hundred ministers in and around Oxford, with over 90% of graduates actively serving today.
The second foundation of Oasis School of Ministry was the LUMNA Leadership Institute (LLI) in Clarksdale, Mississippi. Founded by Dr. Mozart Dor, LLI aimed to equip 21st-century leaders for Kingdom growth in the Delta and Mid-South regions. LLI commenced in the Spring of 2015, during which Dr. David Reeves initiated discussions with his spiritual son, Dr. Mozart Dor, regarding the merger of both institutions’ principles and concepts for a greater Kingdom impact. Following extensive prayer and deliberation, both leaders and their spouses established the Oasis School of Ministry (OSM), with the inaugural session starting in August 2018.
The school launched with twenty full-time students and auditors at the Oxford campus, along with ten students and auditors at the Clarksdale campus. Oasis School of Ministry has extended its reach to Lafayette, Panola, and Coahoma counties in Mississippi, for the Glory of God. The institution’s name has been updated to Oxford School of Ministry to reflect the depth of spiritual education provided and the broader scope of ministry we aspire to achieve. Our vision is to extend our influence across Mississippi and The Delta by 2030 and to evolve into a global training, church planting, and revitalization institution by 2040.
To offer Christian training, teaching, and guidance to all manner of persons who believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
